Sierra Madre 4th of July Festivities
Thursday, July 3rd and Friday, July 4th
Community picnic on the 3rd from 5-10pm with a beer garden, live music, food trucks, kids activities, and more. 5K on the 4th at 7:30am followed by a parade and free family swim at the Sierra Madre Pool pool.

4th of July Festival of Balloons
Friday, July 4th
This year’s theme is Unity in Community: One Nation, One Neighborhood. July 4th Festival of Balloons activities kick off with Kiwanis’ Pancake Breakfast at the South Pasadena Fire Station at 7:00 a.m., located at 817 Mound Ave., South Pasadena. Opening Ceremony for the parade will start at 10:30 a.m. at the South Pasadena Public Library Community Room, located at 1115 El Centro St., South Pasadena. The parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. and travel from Diamond Avenue to Garfield Park where games, a live DJ, and food will be available until 2:30 p.m.

Native Bats of California - Theodore Payne
Wednesday, July 9 · 6 - 7:30pm PDT
Joseph Curti, bat expert and Ph.D. candidate of the Shaffer Lab at UCLA discusses the diversity of bat species living in Los Angeles. Learn about their morphology, natural history, threats, conservation, and their relationship to California native plant habitats. To be followed by Q&A.

Vroman's Summer Concert Series
Shakespeare in the Park
The current schedule of performances includes Julius Caesar on Saturday, July 19 at 7:00 p.m. followed by As You Like It on Sunday, July 20 at 7:00 p.m.
The South Pasadena Community Services Department, in partnership with Shakespeare by the Sea, will host two dates of Shakespeare in the Park this summer. Admission is free and patrons are encouraged to bring their picnics, blankets, and lawn chairs with family and friends to enjoy a night of classic entertainment under the stars.
Shakespeare in the Park is held at Garfield Park, located at 1000 Park Avenue, South Pasadena.

Tournament of Cheeseburgers
Sunday, July 20, 2025 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
The most delicious tournament is back for another round! LAist’s second-annual Tournament of Cheeseburgers will celebrate the cheeseburger in all of its glorious forms, from smashed to vegan and everything in between.

Concerts in the Park
Sunday, July 27 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m
The South Pasadena Community Services Department will host four dates of Concerts in the Park this summer. Admission is free and patrons are encouraged to to bring their picnics, blankets, and lawn chairs with family and friends to enjoy a night of music in the park.
Concerts in the Park is held at Garfield Park, located at 1000 Park Avenue, South Pasadena. The current schedule of performances includes Latin Soul Band on Sunday, June 29, ACME Time Machine on Sunday, July 27, Soul3Sixty on Sunday, August 3, and the series concludes with a showing of Live from Earth - Pat Benatar & Beyond on Sunday, August 17. All concerts run from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
