Oedipus the King, Mama!

Every September the Getty Villa puts on classical plays with a modern twist, in its replica Ancient Greek theatre. This year it’s producing Oedipus the King, Mama!, a new adaptation from with a musical mash-up of Sophocles's Oedipus the King with the music of the King of Rock & Roll, Elvis Presley!

Forest Bathing at the LA Arboretum

September 7th and 8th 7:30-9:30pm - Learn More.

The Arboretum is hosting a moonlight, meditative walk inspired by the Japanese practice of shinrin yoku, which is said to boost immune strength, reduce stress and improve cognitive function. Each meditative walk starts just before sunset and wraps up underneath the full moon with herbal tea.

DTLA Dog Day 2025

In Maguire Gardens at the Los Angeles Central Library, sip and stroll through the gardens with your pet during this "yappy hour." Enjoy specialty drinks, dozens of dog-friendly vendors, photo ops, activities, live music, community dog walks at 6PM and 7PM, etc.
